Default Need a tranny swap

Ive got an 03 2500 I blew the motor in and dropped a 12v in it. It's got an nv4500 5 speed 4x4. Tranny is tight. Clutch has about 1000 miles on it. It's the biggest valair single disc you can get. Just decided on going a different way with the truck and make it a track only truck since I have my other dodges. Need everything to switch it to an auto. Don't need the steering column. I'll be running a floor ****. And you can have everything you might need to do a swap to manual.

Which auto are you looking for? 48RE, 47RE, 47RH?

Which would be the best to put behind? I've always had standards.

48RE is strongest stock, both 47RE and 48RE will need an aftermarket controller, and 47RH will work 1-3 gears by itself but you will have to use toggle switches or something like that to control lockup and overdrive. You can put the stronger pinions from the 48RE into the 47RE or 47RH.

Which could hold the most power after being built? I'll be taking it somewhere to have it built.

The 48RE has stronger pinions stock, but you can put those in a 47RH or a 47RE. The internals are all basically the same so it hard to say one would be stronger than the other. Basically it comes down to do you want it hydraulically controlled with switches for lockup and o/d (47RH) or a standalone computer (47RE, 48RE). I have a 47RE, if you want to make a deal with your NV4500, PM me.

$750 and up, plus a special valve body to be controlled with an aftermarket controller, but since you are having it built anyways just let the company know that it what you want.

You should call Goerend Transmission, they can take care of all that stuff for you.
