Tps mimic

Is it possible to mimic a Tps with a resistor or potentiometer? I have an idea ...

Hum. I might be talking about the wrong thing. I'm talking about the sensor on the gas pedal

I was wondering about using a pot. and changing the voltage to tps is seeing. assuming its a 0-5v signal
