so would a valve adjustment have prevented that?

here is my last test, maybe you have some input.... im losing oil not much but def some missing, maybe 1qt every 2k miles.
the thing is the truck sits a lot and and doesnt get the workout it use to. but like i said im going to have a leak down test done and see whats going on. i suspect one faulty injector but im not sure. i already have new ones ready to go in but i dont want to put them in only to have to pull everything apart again.

Nope. That was a rough one. These cr trucks are known (for a couple reasons, oil quality, fuel dilution being the primary reasons) for sticking or tight rockers. In that case the previous owner just continued to drive after #1 injector went. Not sure what happened first but my opinion is it washed #1 cylinder, which resulted in a broken ring and fuel dilution of the oil, which then resulted in lack of lubrication which accelerated both rocker and cam wear.

Think I would start with a compression test and by checking all the rockers for free movement when doing a lash adjustment. Looks like you're starting to get a touch of fuel dilution. I wouldn't look so much for oil loss as loss of compression. Once you determine if ones lower than the others do a leak down to pinpoint which direction the air is headed.
