Default Opinion on Mods for a 2006 3500 5.9L

I am looking for a 2006 Dodge 3500 5.9L SRW. (Any opinion on model year, etc, about a truck I am looking for.)

I want to do some mods to it, but I want to avoid having to dump a bunch of money into the auto tranny right away. I am trying to be kind of safe about it at first. Here is a list in order of what I am planning on doing to it. Please give me your opinion on my ideas...

1. Air Intake - AFE Momentum HD or Banks Ram Air
2. Exhaust - MBRP 4" Single side exhaust (Cat back or turbo back?)
3. Banks IQ tuner (What about the six gun addition? Do I need the six gun with the IQ or does the IQ have a few power levels alone?)
4. Banks Monster Ram

Now, at some point in time I need to start thinking about the tranny. When do I need to start worrying about putting in a FASS fuel pump? Where do I start looking at injectors, etc?

06 and 07 5.9 are nice cause you can get EFI. I would forget the air intake its not going to give really any gain for the amount your going to spend on it. Unless your doing the cheap Home Depot CAI I would save my money. Honestly I would scratch all the mods you mentioned and just get EFI right away. You can get an autocal for under $700. But if I had to do it over I would have saved and just went with the V2.

You won't want to hear this but #1 should definitely be tranny. Start adding power first and it won't last at all and you will end up spending more money than you would have needed to in the beginning.
#2 should be gauges. At least egt, boost, tranny temp, and rail pressure. Fuel pressure would be nice too.
#3 you can add EFI live. Banks is basically over priced junk as far as tuning goes. With an auto cal you will get a set of tunes with no option of tuning yourself or trying different tuners. A v2 will give you those options. I'd recommend contacting anarchy diesel.

There is no sense in buying a 4" exhaust when that's what we have from the factory. Delete the muffler on the stock exhaust and you will have enough flow to support 800+hp even with the cat still on. Stock intake is typically good up to about 600hp but will aftermarket will look/sound nice. Intake manifold is definitely not needed at that power level. Stock lift pump can supply plenty fuel for that too but fass will give you better filtration. And finally injectors should be your last concern. Air before fuel on a common rail.
