I have a 2003 dodge cummins with 108000 miles on it, I have never had a problem with it until now. The problem is it cuts off while I'm driving usually it does it at stop lights or stop signs but sometimes while i'm on the highway. I tried to get codes from the odometer by doing the on of 3 times with the key but it just has lines and then says done. Is there any other way to check for codes? I also changed the fuel filter and it still happened. Please help if possible.

 

bad injector leaking fuel back to the return line and going in the tank. loosing rail pressure will cause it to shut off

 

you should put a scanner on it to see whats going on, or take it to a shop you trust and have them scan it for codes.

 

Thanks for the help, I will try the scanner. It only seems to do it when the engine heats up.
