Default Need advice on programmer

Im on the market looking to get a new handheld programmer. My two options right now are a Smarty S06 POD or a PPE. Any suggestions for these two, or one that may be better?

What are your plans for the truck? What are you looking to get from the programmer?

What you see in my signature is what I have done so far. Next to come is a set of 90hp injectors and a slightly bigger turbo, and if my budget allows beef up the tranny. I mainly use the truck as a tow rig, so I want a programmer that's going to give the most horsepower and torque gains, but also safe for a stock transmission.

Yeah I figured. The guy that had it before me rebuilt it but i think he put mostly stock parts back in it except for the torque converter. Its got a different torque converter in it, but I dont know what kind

Yeah I would say go for the smarty as well. I got a buddy with a 2003 on 37s and his runs like a scalded dog (he has a suncoast trans tho) My advice would be upgrade the trans first, because the stock setup is weak and just the smarty will be too much not to mention if you upgrade to bigger injectors. On a stock trans I would not run higher than SW#3. Look into Suncoast or Goerend for a trans setup they are the best in my opinion

Thanks for all the input. I gues I'll hold off on a new programmer for now and focus on upgrading the tranny.

I think that is the harsh reality that every diesel truck owner has to come to terms with is dropping thousands on the trans before you can even make any power mods, but its worth it in the end
