Trans fluid looks great just changed recently tho probably about 5K ago doesnt smell burnt or anything. I dont believe its the converter it has a goerend high proformance with the billet trans internals. I wasnt the one who placed the egt sensor in manifold either so im not sure if its best location i will try the temp gun once i can find my dads never thought of that.

Just makes me wonder what's really going on. Lack of air due to restriction will give you a lot more issues than your explaining. Not saying an intake wouldn't be a good mod I just don't think it will solve your problem. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge in the truck? When your running it hard are you maintaining a good fuel supply to the pump?

Dont have a fuel pressure gauge but it has an airdog 100 pump so it should be getting fuel.

Yea i understand that but with the condition of the truck, all the receipts, service records, warrenty on transmission for next 1 1/2 yrs or 100k, seems like a good buy to me guy had tons of money invested he just got a new cummins and didnt need 2 payments. I am just new to diesels and am not sure about the egt's, the truck doesnt constantly run high egts but if im doing short runs or am already traveling at high speeds they build up fast.

I have noticed some people talking about injectors dribbling out fuel and causing high egt's. WHat do you guys think of that? When i bought truck i was told the injectors were factory and truck has 130k on it could they need replaced?

You could pull them and have them pop tested and flow matched.
