Is an the six speed a decent manual trans? Trucks built pretty good, head work, pump work, 3 piece manifold, injectors, one ton rearend with a Detroit true Track locker

 

NV 5600 yes it is especially built for towing with close ratios tween geers.................not a good tranny for speed shifting or racing though

 

Well good thing I'm not a street racer..kid who has it bought it of a guy who built it at college to be a diesel mechanic and needs something cheaper to drive back and forth to college here when he starts so I'm hoping it's not messed up or anything. Looks good guess well have to wait and see. He wants to trade me for my f150. I hope it's not a complete piece of crap because he's four hours away and I really don't feel like spending 300 in gas to meet him.

 

I love my 01 with the NV5600. I occasionally tow a Cat 279C skidloader (approximately 10,000 lbs itself) and it does great with the close ratio gears. I've driven both of my buddies' 06s with the G56 6 speed and I really don't them compared to my NV5600. It shifts smooth and goes down the road better in my opinion

 

Ok.I still have to find out about everything working properly,kind of sounds like it was built for pulling but never made it

No.trade for my 03 f150 fx4 offroad. Kid needs a vehicle easier and cheaper to drive doesn't want a manual I guess for college.it has a newer motor to

No.ain't mentioned it yet. I think he wants my truck and o don't care how much diesel is I want another diesel I drive 15 min to work

 

Well I think were gonna trade, kid never sold it or traded it and I asked hi if he was still interested and Jessie yeah. It's got 198k but o well if anything I could turn around and sell it.
