Wondering what all id need to do to swap in an auto into my current truck. Thinking floor shifter to avoid the steering column if I do it, standalone trans controller, and maybe getting a stock auto and building it myself. but what all am I looking at for parts and price.

i paid 4k for my built 48re, ats VB is 1500 so 5,000 on the safe side. go with the 48re, the planitaries and beefier then in the 47re, and it bolts right up stick to auto is a easy swap

 

If I go with a standalone controller I shouldn't have to mess with the computer will I?

 

nope because the trucks computer will still think you are doing the shifting. im not sure on the 2nd gens, but with the 3rd gens, you can swap ecm's and wiring harnesses with a auto and do it that way. find some one that wants to do a auto to stick conversion
