Ok so I have a 99 with 127k on it and the block is not cracked so I was wondering if it was a 53 block but I didn't see 53 anywhere just a bunch of numbers and letters. Does this mean its not a 53 or did I just not see it?

 

if there isnt a big 53 on the driver side of the block behind the power steering pump then your lucky and you dont have the "bad block"

Are the mexican blocks marked in the same spot? Mine doesn't appear to have any thereat all. Either side

My Mexican block doesn't have any markings in that area. There are some on the front of the block though.
