Default Cummins Transmission

I have a year 2000 dodge cummins (24 valve) and i need to replace my transmission and i found one online but its off of a 1996 dodge cummins (12 valve)... Would it fit??

Your 2000 will have an electronically controlled 47RE, and the transmission from that 1996 is a hydraulically controlled 47RH.

Rebuild your current transmission with quality parts, install a shift kit and a good single disc converter.

I agree with Diesel Dawgs.

Search in this forum section (24v) for y 47RE rebuild post. I am currently doing mine.... Was waiting for parts to finish, they came in, however were destroyed in shipping

You said you need to replace it? Whats wrong with it exactly?

don't take any short cuts with used everytime I have I spent twice as much money.

Exactly! Used stuff might be in just as bad a shape or close to it!
