Well it's not a bad job tbh, make sure it's pretty much on empty when you do it though, I had no idea how much I had because my sender went south, turned out to be around 1/4 tank, like a see saw trying to balance it myself :/ ! It's either that or you could lift the bed, may be a better option if you don't fancy laying on the cold floor

How do you bleed the system after putting the tank back in?

You don't really need to, with the raptor it will prime itself after a couple of bumps on the key to cycle the pump

cummin-atya ...do you still have banjo fittings in the system?? If so - GET RID OF THEM!! Each banjo fitting represents a place where there will be pressure drop as flow increases. If you go to the Vulcan "Big Line Kit" - and get rid of the banjos - then you will have less of a pressure change from IDLE to WOT.

Well I think the only banjo bolt left is the one on the ip cause I had the raptor put on while they replaced the injection pump and it has 1/2 lines. But im gonna pull the pump next week after I run the diesel down

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Sorry I mean pull the tank to check the pickup tube

some questions -
did you remove the original fuel filter from the fuel system?
do you have a 1/2 line from the Raptor to the Injector Pump?
Where are you measuring the fuel pressure that you are reporting?

The original fuel system had the Lift pump at the back of the engine - banjo bolt for inlet, banjo bolt for outlet ....then line to the fuel filter - banjo bolt on inlet, banjo bolt on outlet ...then to the Injector pump.

Vulcan sells a tapped fitting - remove banjo bolt, use the tapped fitting for connecting fuel line to Injector Pump - and put a short (12 in to 18 in) line (most people use a flexible grease gun line) from the tap to the fuel sensor - and this means they are measuring fuel pressure directly at the inlet of the Injector Pump. (And the flex line allows the fuel senor to be mounted away from the block - less vibration...)

My half inch line goes from the tank to the pump then on up to the back half of the fuel filter housing then the orginal line to the ip. My reading for fuel pressure reading is coming from the banjo bolt on the ip.

It sounds like you should still get the Vulcan big line kit to go from the fuel filter to the IP - My guess is you still have 2 banjo bolts in your system - 1 at the fuel filter and 1 at the LP. (I am assuming the line from LP to fuel filter removed the banjo for filter input).

It is a better system - and I bet your delta pressure when going from idle to WOT will be significantly less.

Ya with my half inch line the filter inlet has a quick connect now so the banjo on the ip is still there and I'm assuming that's what is on the bottom of the filter housing? Which would be the output. So with this Vulcan kit where would I put the tap for my mechanical gauge?

Glacier diesel performance do a big line kit for fairly cheap $$
