Mysterync is right on target, as usual. The whole "Goerend is best" thing in the diesel trans world is a perfect example of the communal reinforcement fallacy. Communal reinforcement is the process by which a claim becomes a strong belief through repeated assertion by members of a community.

The simple fact is, automatic transmissions are not particularly complicated or mysterious mechanical devices that have been getting motor vehicles around the planet for well over half a century. People like to think there is a silver bullet or something special about what they spend their hard earned dollars on. Good luck with it no matter who built it with what when you abuse the shyt out of it with 1,000 ft/lbs of torque.

Good, better, best only goes so far.

a real good friend of mine has owned a tranny shop for many years and he says the same same as mystery that if the shop knows what there doing you should have it done local BUT there are a lot that dont know what there doing as far as setting line pressures and all the other adjustments involved these trucks put out big power that needs to be handled by a strong tranny and tc. but to each there own.
