Need turbo help fast
Hey all,
Turbo siezed on my 2001 Ram. Need to find replacement ASAP, and Im very low on funds. I found an HX35W on Craigslist for $100, but the current owner had never run it. Any ideas on how to find a HY/HX35 or any other turbo that would work, cheap and somewhat local?
EDIT: Found an H1C for $150, dont know if that will work, says T3 flange. Afraid I'm pretty new to turbos....

The H1C is not wastegated (unless it's a WH1C), so it would be an inch or 2 short to bolting up to your downpipe. Used turbos are a crapshoot. I wouldn't buy one without hands-on inspection first. Lots of junk sellers out there.
If you check out a turbo, grab the nut that holds the compressor (cold side) and the turbine( hot side) and try to move them , both side to side and in and out. Some side to side is ok but in and out movement is bad
