Default 99 Cummins Autos HELP!!!

Need a opinions!!!! I am looking at buying my first cummins, i have (2) 2nd gens now with the 360s and there killen me in fuel pulling with them. So iam in the market for a cummins. Iam looking at 2 different 99s now, Any thoughts and opinions on these trucks would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! Pulling a 20 ft camper and a 14 foot aluminum boat.

1st- 1999 Dodge ram 2500 ext cab short bed
Dark blue in color- ALL ORIGINAL, NO MODS WHATSOEVER
Mint condition inside and out, from the south
124,xxx automatic- $14,400

2nd- 1999 Dodge ram 2500 ext cab short bed
Red in color- ALL ORIGINAL, NO MODS WHATSOEVER
Mint also inside and out, also from the south
127,XXX automatic-$14,700

From what it looks like both trucks were really taken good care of! Neither have goosenecks and both still have stock exhausts on them. Any input would be awesome!!

So the biggest difference you have listed is which color to choice. Either one would a good choice, have you test driven either of them? How's the trans shift. how's the steering? Get service records. has either one had a Injection pump replaced.
which ever one you decide to purchase, aftermarket lift pump, and guages would be first on the list for upgrades. Since there autos. start saving for a rebuild.

Yea pretty much color, iam going to drive and climb all over the truck tomorrow, the trucks def in my price range, i called today and they said the truck is all original and in really good shape, i was just worried about the automatic trans with 120+. My original plan was to build the auto. All handshakers around where i live with 100 miles are WAYYYY over priced by like $5,000, so iam just gunna build a ripper of an auto. The only mods iam planning on are a straight 4inch exhaust, intake, and programmer for fuel economy, i should be ok with the auto for a while. pulling a 14 foot aluminum boat and a possible 17 foot camper.

sorry bout that there both 4x4, thinken of going with a suncoast auto billet trans.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

for now iam gunna run gauges (pyro, trans temp, fuel, boost) and an electonic tranny cooler with fan and an inline trans filter. Try an save her till i can build her.

Which color do you like better?? thats pretty much the only difference!! I would do the transmission sooner than later... But if you have to wait I would at least throw a TC and valve body in it for now. That should hold what you are lookin to do

Thanks for all your help guys! So your saying for the application iam using the truck for if i drop in a TC and a valve body i should be ok. Any recommendations on what TC and Valve body to go with. I would be driving the truck for roughly 6 months before any major mods except straight pipe and intake, and killer dowl pin removal, atleast until the weather breaks.
