i would like to build my 47re and am curious to what others have done and what works the best. i want to build it to easily hold 500 hp. any input helps

 

put a good extreme duty kit in it which sould come with all the small stuff then i would put a good valvebody and a triple disk in it, if you plan to pull or race add a billet input shaft

thats how our 01 is built and its holding just fine

 

I have a very similar set up for my trans. High energy clutches and dics's, Billet K080 (?) solenoid, billet input shaft, triple billet t/c, and it's holding well.

Do remember that despite how tough you build it, weird things can happen. I had a snap ring in my forward clutch pack snap. Left me with 1st and 2nd only. Fortunately, it was still under warranty and the repair was free.

 

Extreme rebuild kit with quality parts. Valve Body and a good Torque Converter. At 500+hp I would recommend a triple disc converter and a billet input shaft.
