I wasnt saying that changing the tranny fluid would fix it but theres a chance. If the PO had some non spec fluid in there for any amount of time, the syncros could very well be trashed. Good luck.

I'd rather try it and fail then to rebuild my whole tranny and not know if that could have fixed it...

On another note, I pulled my door lock switch apart, I know I am getting power to it because if I push down on the lock side, it blows the fuse. Do I have a short somewhere?

Yep means a short or incorrect fuse in the spot. Check for the right amperage fuse first And if its good you get to start chasing wires

Well im gonna try to switch out the switch and see if that helps. While I was messing with all this, i must have done something because now my windshield wipers only work on high and my door buzzer doesn't work anymore. Any ideas?

I think this truck is falling apart... I think it is just the switch that is making the door locks not work, because now my driver window will go down and only half the time go back up, passenger side works fine. Is that a pretty common problem?

the right oil in your trans is most important for your needle bearing on the backside of your input shaft. There are 3 very small holes through your 4th gear on your mainshaft that oils that bearing, and synthetic is the only way that it gets lubed.
Just spent $700 in parts building my nv4500. Also if 3-4 is the only place you are having trouble, it could also be a cracked shift fork. I had this one happen to me in a borg warner t-18 in a ford , and again in a 4spd saginaw out of a chevy, but is a possibility in any manual trans. if it is, sooner or later, it will only go in one gear and out of the other with ease.

on your windows, try cleaning and lubing the roller tracks. common problem on all high mileage power windows.

not to keep backtracking, but my buzzer doesn't work on purpose... I disabled it. I believe your wipers are also controlled by your central timer unit. it is under the dash beneath the steering column.

I got my wipers to work, all I had to do was replace my door lock fuse after it blew and they started up again. I tried to pull the door lock switch out and use electrical cleaner, nothing helped. This truck is getting irritating

Try double clutching 3rd if the fluid change doesn't work. 3rd grinds sometimes in my 99, but if I double clutch it; it works fine. You may have to hit the throttle after double clutching if the syncros are bad, but if you are broke you can live with it till you get some money to buy a 6spd or rebuild the 5spd. A new stock clutch is ~$200 from advance.
