Default back brakes locking up?

Trying to find a way to fix the problem of my back brakes locking up after truck is parked? I have changed wheel cyl and put new seals in rear.

I've always wondered why they do that But most Dodges with rear drums do it.

Is the proportioning valve adjustable?
My dually does it mostly after being parked for a short time.
After it is driven and warmed up the problem seems to dissapear.
I haven't had the rear drums off yet but it will be soon. Would be nice to fix problem before snow.

yea that is exactly what mine does.. drive it, park few few minutes-hours and then get back in it to take off and the lock up.. once i drive a very short distance they are fine again.. But its a real bad feeling when they do it at top of a hill you have to go down.

Factory proportion valve is not adjustable, but install an aftermarket adjustable one and all your problems will go away, after removing the factory 1 of course...

My 2001 came with 4 wheel disk. So I've never had this problem

Try adjusting them first before you do anything else. Mine used to do that until I discovered the self adjusters refuse to keep them tight enough under normal use. I have a long driveway I back into and I use the parking brake to stop several times backing in about once a week and that keeps them up. No more lockup in cold/wet weather unless I get lax about stopping with the parking brake for too long.
