I have a 5 speed in my 01 CTD tranny seems great other then its hard to get into reverse some times. When it wont go in I have to go forward a little then I can get it to go into reverse no problem. Any ideas? I have searched on it my self but cant find anything

and it has no problem going into 5th

 

Put it in a forward gear first, then try reverse, have to do it in my 6 spd, to stop the cluster from rotating, its why big trucks have clutch brakes...

So there is nothing I can do about it? I sure have been close to bumping a few things by having to nudge forward before I can back up

 

You shouldn't have to move, just keep the clutch pushed in, and put it in a forward gear then try reverse.
