I pulled the starter to put a new crank sensor in because my truck is surging at idle and the tach isn't working. I thought the sensor was behind the starter but there is nothing there. Does an 01 with a five speed just use the cam sensor for everything? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

 

Behind the injection pump, left lower I believe. It uses the cam shaft sensor in 01-02

Left lower? I guess if you looking at it from the grill. While sitting i the drivers seat, it is below and to the right of the VP44. It is also a bit of a to get to. 15/16" deep socket, if I remember correctly.

Hey guys thanks for the help. I found it and yes it was a bear to get to. It was a torx bit. Man I didn't think I would ever get that screw back in. The truck is running great now. Thanks again for all your help.
