I've bought a wrecked 02 24v that had also been picked of some spendy parts such as turbo inter cooler some electronics, So my question is what is the least needed to fire the engine to see if it is good like I was told at purchase.

 

get a fuel pressure gauge

 

Good battery, good fuel pressure to the VP44, all fuses and replays good, diesel fuel, and air.

 

don't fire it without a turbo or at least plugging off the oil supply line you will have a major mess . other than that all sensors should be on it and all wiring, ecm, injection pump, fuel(pressure to vp44), air, oil, and relay/fuse box under hood, and it should run.
