Default Electrical problem?

My 01 has a new throttle position sensor and fass 95 pump. Yesterday when I started it, it kept surging at idle and check engine light was on. I shut it off and restarted it and it was fine and no check engine light. Today it done it again. I kept shuting it off and restarting. It quit surging right away but check engine light stayed on all day and then went out when I restarted it after eating at Dairy Queen. The only code that shows is 1693. Also the tac quit working for about 5 minutes today. Any ideas what this could be?

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine
control module.
P1693 (M) DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC
Detected in ECM
A 9Companion DTC9 was set in both the ECM and PCM

There are some more codes in the ECM or PCM scan for more codes. Did you do a APPS(TPS) reset after you installed the new APPS(TPS)?

do you know what your fuel pressure was before you did the fass? you could have injection pump issues. How old are the batteries and are they charged?

After I put the new TPS in I set the voltage according to the directions and slowly push and released the gas peddle. The fuel pressure never went below 8psi until the holley blue pump burned up. I didn't run the truck at all until I replased it with the fass. I have 15 psi now. I was wondering id a cam or crank position sensor would do this. Thanks for the help guys. I hope it isn't the injector pump. I only get the 1693 code. I took it to Advance Auto Parts and their scanner wouldn't even pull anything up like it wasn't communicating. I have gotten codes before but now all I seem to get is 1693. I do have a quad adrenillian in the truck. Would that cause problems with the computers talking back and forth?

I finally got a 0500 code. Speed sensor. I replaced it and it seemed ok for about 4 days. Now when I first start it the tach quits working and the motor is surging. If I try to go it seems like it doesn't want to build boost as fast as normal. The fuel pressure is 15psi and the check engine light is on. If I shut it off and try to restart it, it acts like is isn't getting any fuel for about 1 minute then starts. Can't get any code but 1693 again. With the tach quitting it makes me think sensor or ecm. Any ideas would really be appreciated. Thanks guys.

These trucks do sometimes burn sensors and never throw the code... Crank and Cam sensors are the only 2 I know that cause the tach to drop off. Even the ECM will NORMALLY throw code when it quits, or go haywire and throws 20 codes.

Hey Empty Wallet,
I was leaning toward crank and cam sensors too. It took forever to get a code on my speed sensor. I guess I will change them out and see what happens. Thanks a lot for your input. Much appreciated.
