I was over to the welding shop today. The machinest saw that I was driving a 1998.5 Dodge/Cummins and started to chat. He drives a 1999 Dodge/ Cummins A/T and :said that he only runs with four pounds fuel pressure.
His Theory is...
The vp44 bypass valve is factory set at about twelve pounds fp. His fp guage is hooked to the fuel line on his rail, therefore the vp was getting plenty of fuel and cooling with four pounds fp to spare, his fp guage shows four pounds at idle.

I did'nt argue with him as he said that this vp44 was the third one he has replaced.

 

are you serious he really needs some help cause from what i've herd 10 pounds of fp is the danger level for a vp44 and he runs it at 4 pounds he is insane no wonder he's killing that many of them
