Just curious? Do you hear the high pitch squeak while driving and/or just when your slowing down and stopping. Two years ago I had a u joint go bad and the sound was a high pitch chirp and I would hear this while going through all the gears. The pitch would get louder as I increased speed and would go away when I'd be stopped.

Did you do all of them or just one? Any of the needles fall out?

I wanted to replace all but only replaced the joint that failed. I have a skyjacker 4.5 lift on my truck and roll on 315 size tires. Do you think the lift kit causes the stock u joints to fail sooner? Lately I've been hearing a small chirp coming from the front end and hear this when I roll to a stop. Not sure if it's drive line or wheel bearings or brake issues? Any ideas would be most helpfull. Thanks

The best thing to do when you do rear u joints is replace all of them to insure that they all stay tight because if one goes bad its gonna wear on the other ones. And a lift will add to the wear because of the change in angles of the driveline going to the pinion on the truck. Especially if you did not do a carrier bearing drop on the back IMO. And for the chirp for the front it could be the u joints, but I would check the knuckle u joints, and jack the front up and spin the front tires to see if the wheel bearings have some play or make a abnormal noise.

my squeel went away after a few miles after replacing both u joints on the rear drive shaft. This weekend i will be doing the front drive shaft u joints, axle u joints, and ball joints. Im praying my wheel bearings are not bad because i do not have the funds to replace them.

Would a reputable off road shop know to do this carrier bearing drop during kit installation?
I will check the knuckle joints. Looking or listening for anything in particular. Will let you know what I find. Thanks

Alot depends on whose kit it is as well I think... I know bds does but some of the cheaper brands might not have a option for that. I would like to think they would but you never know. And with a gasser I think you could get away with it better than a big torquer diesel!

My truck is not even lifted but I have went through 9 sets of u joints in mine from heavy towing and what not
