Default always grinds into 3rd gear
my brother just bought a 99' 24v with a 5speed manual and it always grinds into third gear i think it is the syncros but just wondering what you guys thought?

Yes the 3rd gear synchro is most likely shot, if he started matching the engine speed with speed at which he shifts he could eliminate most of that, just like large trucks.

yeah i took it for a ride today and you just have to wait a little bit for the gears/engine to slow down and it pops right in thanks for the help
