mine was the same i just fixed it today heres some pics my resistor was pretty beat up but just like RA says a little wire came loose hopefully you can see it in the pics i just soldered it back down and it works again if you dont have a solder radioshack sells an 8 dollar kit with the iron and solder wire which is what i bought any way just thought i would share some pics

Thats exactly what happened to mine! Simple fix, eh?

 

took me longer to go to radioshack and get the soldering stuff then it did to fix it heck of alot better than shelling out 60 bucks for a new one
