fan control switch

my fan is only working in high and none of the other speeds. anybody had this problem or have a clue what might be the problem?

Yeh it sounds like a blower mtr resistor I manage a NAPA and see it all the time the motor only runs on high and the resistor cuts the speeds the NAPA #BR125 should solve your problem

Mine did the same when I bought my truck. I removed the resistor pack and found a copper strip had come loose from it's solder. I held it back down, re-soldered it, and it has been working for two years now.

Nice diagram, very helpful. Im agreeing with everyone above, the blower motor resistor is almost definitely the problem.

Thanks! To be honest, I just did a Google search and it lead me to a different Forum. copied the image, and edited there piss poor report on it. Some guys can't transfer information very well!:s:

should the blower motor work with the resistor unpluged?

jshmohr 02-12-2011 02:30 PM

I dont think so but you can test the motor by running a straight 12v to it
