Take some veggie oil and stick it out in the cold and youll see why... She thickens up and that doesnt pass through a tiny injector hole to get vaporized.

I would like to go bio-diesel myself... Not sure about how it works in 24v, no garage, not worth looking into yet!

I definitely would not run it if you are in a cold climate. It gets to -25 here without windchill and just 15% biodiesel has problems with gelling. You would be having so many problems in the winter, and it doesn't matter if it heats it up. After it leaves the heat and goes into the cold its going to thicken right up. It would not be reliable. If you are in a warm climate, then go for it.

AGREED on the cold climate. personal insight... if you have a 24 valve dont run SVO. even with a kick *** lift pump the internal passages get clogged with oil buildup. a VP44 isnt cheap, and to convert a 24V isnt worth it. i ran a 94 12V with a 60/40 blend of BIO FUEL (60% bio) it sat about 300hp with bio it still had just as much *****. i ran it for 2 of the 3.5 years (not after 45 degrees F) and saved almost $3000 in fuel! i made my bio from anywhere between 19 cents/gal to 85 cents/gal. i bought a 24v, filled her up and thought i was gonna have to replace the pump. bio fuel is a very good investment, but you have to have the correct setup and go through all the preperations. cleaning out the fuel tank, keeping new filters, being overly **** about the oil you use etc.

I have freinds that use on 12 valve motors, but the vp 44 is to picky. and never repeat never let vegie oil sit in motor it is like acid when it absorbs water which it does. If you run always flush with reg diesel before it sits. most people here have 2 tanks and switch before shuting down.

You shouldn't be running it in a stock fuel system. The best way is a heated two tank setup (basically a second fuel system on the truck). WVO/SVO needs to be heated to be burned properly as it is, so putting it in a stock fuel system is asking for troubles. I use my vegistroke during the winter. In fact when we had -30 degree temps, it was the only reason I made it to work. My stock diesel system couldn't keep pressure up as the fuel was icing/gelling. Truck would run and idle OK on diesel but couldn't handle putting a load on it (even just putting it in Drive). let it warmed up, flipped over to the veg system and wha-la off to work I went.

There are kits available for your truck, but most of them suck. I haven't seen any kit good for them. Most of them use copper lines, which will react with the WVO and cause polymerization. Your best bet is to build a DIY kit. If you sign up on www.biofuelstechnologies.com you can get some help. It's 90% vegistroke users, but some guys have made their own DIY kits. There is a member that goes by AzDave, he's converted a couple dodges by adapting a vegistroke or building his own. Really smart guy.

The best thing to do is build a filtration setup first, collect some oil, and play with it. see if it's even something you're willing to commit too. Sure you can save some money, but it's more of a hobby. It takes time/energy to do everything that needs to be done. A lot of things that guys don't really think about.

Happened to me again today, stock fuel system gelled up about 1/8 mile from my driveway fuel pressure fell off to almost 0 again. Switched the WVO system over to "manual on" (the system wasn't up to temp, but I had offroad diesel in the back tank anyways so it didn't need to be heated) and the FASS kicked on and shot fuel pressure up to 75psi, and off I went. Drove it in to work with a complete NON functioning factory fuel system!
