rocker arm ratio
#2
after a few phone calls and some extensive research i found the rocker arm ratio. the cummins 24 valve is 1.85:1 and that applies to the 98.5-07 vp44 and common rail trucks. so to all those out there loooking at cam upgrades do the math and check your clearances before you put in a larger cam. im in a crap storm right now because the head was not setup correctly for my cam. and has bent the valve springs and ruint all the valve seals. all because the clearance wasnt right. so make sure your cam is not to big. so to figure your valve lift the formula is== cam lift times 1.85= valve opening/ valve lift... example. stock cam is .265 lift on exhaust lobes, so it would be
265x1.85=490.25 so your lift is 490 on the valve opening.
265x1.85=490.25 so your lift is 490 on the valve opening.
