Default 47RE problem, hanging in first

Never had a problem out of my stock tranny other than it slipping like hell when i do boosted launches but oh well ride er till she bucks ya fix it an go on but a couple days ago i hooked up to my trailer and my truck wouldn't change outta first unless i let off the throttle or i hit 30mph....thought it was maybe speed sensor or throttle cable...tried both and it's still doing it...i figured its probably a valve sticking but trying to figure out what would cause a valve to stick?...gonna drop the pan and VB this weekend and see if I can get to the bottom of it...also what would you guys recommend for a new VB I know ATS and all them are good but i'm not putting 600-800 in a VB i'm looking around 350-500 range because i don't have a whole lot of mods...maybe 325-350hp at most...also gonna do a TC sometime in march when work picks up...any recommendations on TC and VB and what might be wrong with it now

No codes but if you know someone witha scanner that data logs you can find out desired vs actual and see what its actually pushing for pressure as well

Thats just what my truck did. It wouldnt shift out of 1st unless i hit 3100rpm, it threw a code but I dont remember the number, I changed the governer pressure sensor and solenoid, problem solved.

Do a Transgo shift kit or a DTT shift kit and a single disk(or a reman triple) Torque Converter and call it good.

Although I would recommend upgrading the servo cover and accumulator and Band strut and anchor as well. But they aren't absolutely needed. Just extra insurance.

Kazairl...I was just talking to a local trans shop and they suggested petty much the same thing. How much do you think a shop should charge to do what you suggested including the accumulator and band strut anchor? Just trying to get an idea.

The Torque Converter would be the most labor intensive because you have to pull the whole trans. The rest of it could be accomplished with the trans in the truck just by pulling the valve body. The shift kit is mostly replacing springs and drilling a couple holes.
So All in all Labor shouldn't be that much. Couldn't tell you a dollar figure though.
