no matter what the problem lies with the tps or lift pump,vp44,so if its eathier lift pump or vp you have to bleed the system.Before we jump the gun we have to find whats the problem,an do that by always starting with the stupid sh**.theres 2 lines to the vp ,the supply an the return,the line that comes straight from the lift pump to the to of the vp is the one u need to disconect,that line should spray out an just poor like crazy,an its gonna make a mess but make shore its primen until pump turns off.if it pours out like a kitchen sinks would its lift pump,if not email me at dieseldocjon@yahoo.com an ill tell u whats next.lift pump is bad your best bet is a air dog or fass,but if you want stock you can install by yourself and then ill tell you how to bleed your system.remember aftermarket lift pumps keep krap like this from goen wrong cause it has a water an trash seperator,plus warranty.

 

Disregarding the filter, eh? Distinguishing between the supply and return is very easy. The supply comes from the filter on a stock truck, and the return has a ball in the center of the fitting. This ball holds a spring relief in the return side set to 18 PSI, keeping your VP full of fuel when you lift pump is working. Loosening the supply fitting will bleed the fuel lines if the pumps is working. A quick bump of the starter will make the PCM supply power to the lift pump for about 20 seconds, lots of time to check for fuel flow.

 

sorry bout that brain is still asleep,but also alot of people dont have shops like us so they dont have a fuel pressure gauge.just telling the old timie way.its done good for the shop an training my hands,much quicker jobs in an out my doors.

 

do i take off the one i marked with red or blue to check flow. Also i have a Fuel pressure gauge in cab via edge juice programmer it says with the key on 1 psi while trying to crank 24 psi

Yes it does then when it shuts off it goes back to zero or 1

 

How many PSI does it make after you bump the starter?
