Default VP44 or APPS

Hey everyone i have an 02 cummins mods are in the sig. im thinking i need a VP but im not sure and id like some input

Symptoms:

When truck is cold it starts right up but it runs rough and misses if you touch the throttle in neutral or park.
Then sometimeswhen you start going it will lose all power, almost identical to the dead pedal, but i cant get it to recover without turning the truck off and restarting.
Im also experiencing a dead pedal around 50 mph sometimes but not all the time and once the truck is warm i can just let off and get back on the throttle and it is fine.

The truck runs strong but fuel mileage has dropped off a little

So what do you guys think and do you think the VP44 or would it be worth throwing in a APPS?

Also what about the VP44 electronic fix at the top of this section.

Thanks in advance, James

0216 is a death code

Your going to need to replace your Injection Pump

P0500 is a speed sensor, but as lukesdiesel said, P0216 is pretty much a guaranteed VP44...

As far as the speed sensor goes where is it located and that code comes and goes should i really worry about it? could it be from my edge box?

As far as the injection pump maybe a P pump conversion
