The wire on my engine air warmed shorted out tonight what do i need to do to fix it? The wire to it was soo hot it was glowing.

 

Where or what shorted? The short will need to be fixed first, then replace the wire with the same size.

 

the wire that shorted was the one on the heater that is grounded to the inlet on the top of the motor.

 

I think you are talking about the grid heater. You may have a stuck relay. I would look there first.

I did some looking at my wiring tonight it is all fine other than the jumper wire on the grid heater. I have a bigger intake manifold that is made out of plastic or some composite material. Could that be my problem?
