Ive tried searching the site, and this was the closest to my question..... how do you identify if you have a SOvp44 or HOvp44?

Only the 6 speed trucks came with the hovp44. Now if you had a ho and a so sitting next to each other on a bench I don't have any idea on how to tell them apart.

Middle of the page, there is a video and a chart that tell the different part numbers and where to find them.

correction... only the 6-spd trucks from 01-02 came with the HOVP44...

the 99.5-00.5 6-spd trucks came with the SOVP44, and the NV5600 was slightly different as well... it had a 1 1/4" input shaft like the 5-spds till the HO motor came out then they switched to the 1 3/8" input shaft on the NV5600.

The HO motors also have different pistons in them making them higher compression motors.

2001 3500 dodge diesel how do you remove injector pump we had water in our fuel that someone put in the tank on purpose the truck stalled and we bled the water from the filter and bled off the lines yet will not start. installed new lift pump still no start. we are trying to take off injector pump to take it to a shop to have it checked out and refurbished.

you would be better off buying a reman pump. there are only 2-3 places that actually have the equipment to test a vp44.

have you checked for codes?
