valve lash
im still kinda new with diesels, iv had one for a year but i havent really done anything with it. a friend of mine was talking about valve lash the other day and i was wondering if anyone else has done this. i got the truck when it had 180k miles on it and now its got 208k on it. any thougths on this? if so then enlighten me please!

I haven't needed to do it on mine yet but what your friend was referring to was simply adjusting the valves. After about 125,000 - 150,000 miles, your Cummins should have the valves adjusted since the lash is going to be off. Its not that hard and for most of the guys who have done it found out that it wakes up the engine a bit and possibly brought back a little lost fuel mileage.
