scanner pulled p0216 truck is 2000 has a lope like a cam then clears but don't have good power blows white smoke

Yup. Time for a new one. (Make sure you get one with new electronics)



And a good lift pump and fuel pressure guage if you dont have one.

you know i had that code white smoke and all and my local shop told me to change the speed sensor in my trans and i did and it fixed it and never had the problem again they said that sensor tells the vp how to fuel along with other things but the sensor went bad and threw the pump timing off its a 20 dollar sensor and its worth a shot man

good point - that code can be generated by a number of things. its always best to clear it a few times to make sure it comes back.

Generally white smoke and hard starts when warm are telltale signs that your pump is shot.
