You would have been wise to go with a Fass or Airdog instead of the intank pump. If you decide to go that way and bypass the intank pump - you can just get a Vulcan Performance Drawstraw V and you dont have to take the pump out of the tank.
Have you scanned the truck for codes? If not, you probably should.
I think the ECM sends the power to turn on the lift pump?? Not 100% sure though

You should not own one of these trucks if you dont have 1) a code reader and 2) a fuel pressure guage.
Trying to diagnose problems without a code reader is like changing oil blindfolded.
