I simply tied the black/tan wire coming off the alternator to the alternator bracket to hold it off the alternator. Seems to have worked so far - shifting beautifully. I guess that's why they put the holes in the bracket

 

mine was doing that and then one day i was driving and when i got to about 35-40 mph and my engine just started to free spin i had my tranny rebuilt but the guy who rebuilt my tranny said the converter would be fine to reuse. do i need to get a new converter or is it the noise because it started to do it after i got my tranny rebuilt

 

I would install a good converter. Atleast a brand name single disc. Let me know if I can help.

TPS - Throttle Position Sensor

PCM - Powertrain Control Module (aka, the computer that controls powertrain functions)
