Default HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! 01 cummins "no bus"

ok guys new at electronic cummins' here. jsut bought this 01 cummins with a attitude chip. anywho truck was running fine when i parked it then when i restarted it today all the lights came on the dash then off then the odometer flashed 4 times and now just says "no bus". i went to a local mechanic and he said that the computer was going out of it, what is the truth? easy fix or a pricey one? PLEASE

can we have somemore info about your truck bud... could be the ecm i guess

You can check the continuity of the CAN wires between the ECM, PCM, and Dash. My overhead console didn't display anything, found disconnected wires in the CAN circuit.

Yea check for damaged wires and the obvious things first. Because you don't want to pay for any new computers just to find out it was something simple. Believe me ive done it once or twice.

Check the ECM fuse too. Mine popped out at one point and did the same thing. I believe its #9 on the drivers side of your dash

mine did that few weeks ago. Didnt have power going from ECM to my airdog.

From the ECM or PCM? As I understand it the PCM controls the lift pump, and the ECM tells the PCM when to turn in the lift pump via CAN BUS.

well.. maybe that is my problem then.. What all does the PCM control?? I dont have any ABS lights on the dash but I do not think my ABS braking is working as well as my airdog only gets power about 20 percent of the time
