hey guys i got a 98 cummins its got a quadzilla adrenaline 75 hp sticks aem cold air intake banks high ram intake air dog 150 and some other lil things pacbrake guages etc.. and oviouslly the egts are getn a lil high ... i was thinkin maybe an hx40 might work and use bigger exhaust as well ... i was jus wantin some feedback on the hx 40 (good bad) cuz i aint got the money for a better turbo lemme know what yall think thanks

 

If the pacbrake mounts to the back of the turbo you dont have too many options if you want to keep the brake. One of them is a 35/40 hybrid. it uses a 60mm(stock is 56) hx40 comp wheel/cover on a 35 center/turbine housing so it is a direct bolt-on replacement.
You can get them a few places and there are different kinds. Try talking to Jacob, he can get you what you need.

hey thanks for the help i checked the hybrid turbo and it says good for around 350 hp wich my goal range is around 400-425 so would it b better to do away with the pacbrake and get the hx40?

 

What kind of EG Temps we talkin here? How much boost are you getting? I dont see someone doing all that and not running 4" exhaust..there are alot of ways to go here some more info on the truck would help out auto /manual trans tells us what turbo you have..i suggest filling out your sig with all the info you have on your truck so we can help you out alot better

 

sorry bout the lack of info im a newb on this site . but my truck is a 5 spd with all the mods i listed above its jus got the stock hx35 on it deringed of corse and if i crank my zilla over 5 itll get to 14 on the egts easily - i can lose the pacbrake if i have to ... i was lookin at a hx40 super drag jw if thatll do the trick or not
