The Edge is a wicked product, and their customer service is second to none. You may be on budget if you do the install yourself, and it is very easy to install. But this is where problems happen. It is hard to resist jacking the EJWA (Edge Juice With Attitude) to the highest level and having fun. When you do this your using more fuel, of course, but more than a stock lift pump and keep up with. Now you should upgrade your lift pump as well, going to be over $100 the cheap way. Either that or you risk the possibility of killing your $1000+ VP44 injection pump. The EJWA will monitor your fuel pressure, and alert you if it is too low, but it won't derate the engine to help save the VP44.

An Edge Comp box is cheaper, but doesn't come with built in gauges, or any of the features the Juice does. At this point you would still want a different lift pump, and now need a set of manual gauges.

The supplied budget is a little hard to work with. In the end, I would suggest a set of 65HP injectors (or nozzles if you have the time and a good diesel shop local) and a fuel pressure gauge. A fuel pressure gauge, or light, is a must for all VP44 trucks. Pretty much a "do or die" when it comes to increasing power output of a VP44 engine.

new pump yes you can get a fass direct replacement pump for 300 i think, clutch is fine depending on how you drive nozzles just go on ur stock injectors much cheaper than buying the whole injector those fire ball nozzles that RAs got are good

Nozzles are installed on your injector bodies. Most of the time if you buy a set of complete injectors you have to send your stock ones in as a core. However they have the advantage of just dropping them in. If you buy nozzles you should really have them installed by a diesel shop because they will have to set the pop off pressures.

Installing injectors is pretty easy. Should only take a couple hours.

Edit: To clarify, I meant having a diesel shop install the nozzles on the injector bodies. You can still install the injectors yourself.

Edge Jammers are inexpensive. The thing I have found with cheaper injectors is that the are smokier, make less power and less mileage than the more expensive ones. They will make power, just not as efficiently.
Fireballs are another inexpensive injector.
SDX makes injectors than seem pretty good at a midrange price.
I've heard good things about RCPs injectors as well.
DDP and F1 are also good injectors at the higher end of the price range.

We don't mind newbies coming here and asking intelligent questions. Asking how to make more smoke is NOT an intelligent question. It's akin to asking "what can I do to make my truck more obnoxious?" The way your phrased your question insinuates that you want to do something stupid with the knowledge we give you. If you had rephrased your question to ask how to make more power, your reception here would have gone much smoother.

Most of us here are not opposed to smoke. Practically everyone's truck on this site will smoke. It's a fact of life when you take a diesel engine and double or triple the horsepower it makes. The fact is, however, we mod our diesels to make power NOT smoke.

You have the right to do whatever you want with, or to, your truck. We have the right to tell you if we think your an idiot for doing so.

OK that's my soapbox rant for the day.

sell the edge ez get an edge comp box and you will be a lot happier with that. also don't get a fass ddrp get a good pump like a raptor fass 95/150 airdog or similar. your clutch will handle that but not much more.
