Default Power Steering & Vacuum Pump Seals

Hey, I have a little more than normal oil dripping today. Upon closer inspection it looks to me like my seals between the power steering and vacuum pump are leaking. My question is, How many seals need to be replaced. I have never had one of these apart. I'm guessing there are seals for both pumps? Is there a kit? How much of a job is it? Doesn't look to bad, but I have said that before and 6hrs later I'm still cussing.

Here you go.
The kit is easy there are 2 seals and he gives you extra just in case.I done many it is about 2 hours for me,YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE THE POWER STEERING PUMP OFF.This will add time and stress and beer to your work.

I just did new contacts and plunger about 6 months ago. Good to know though. Hope I'm good for a while. My truck has 220,000 mi on it and it's starting to nickel and dime me. The wife says I should get a new one, but I don't want one. For once she tells me to buy something and I don't want it

How is it possible to change the seal without pulling the pump

Very true, the power steering pump is connected to the vacuum pump. I had just planned on pulling both and then disassemble them. Might learn something very interesting here

Pull your steering pump first, leave it with the truck that way you don't have to mess with the lines. then pull the vp and change the seal, just be careful when you put the steering pump back on, so you don't mess up the new seal. There's a brace on the back you have to unbolt too. It's not that bad of a job

I guess I really didn't think about the lines. That would be the next issue I'm sure. Thanks for the info

If you take it all apart then you have to bleed the air out of the power steering lines, its not worth it to do it unless there is a problem with the power steering pump.
