ho swap vp
I've heard they can be a little doggy without a chip. The HO has the ability to run slightly higher injection pressure with a slightly more aggressive ramp rate on the cam at the expense of smaller plungers.
You'll reach the hp limit of the Ho pump sooner than the SO pump. However, you might be able to pull your injectors and have them set to a slightly higher pressure for a small increase in mileage and power. It would be pretty small though.
Ho motors also have higher compression than the SO motors which accounts for the 10 more HP.
So no you don't have to do any mods but I don't see you gaining much from the swap. You could keep it around as a spare and use it in an emergency if you wanted.
