Default Oil Pressure & Fuel Pressure

This morning I was driving my Dodge and the oil pressure guage dropped to below zero and the dash light and buzzer went off. Before I could stop the oil pressure gauge went back to normal. This happened four times in ten miles. I have standard 98.5 24v with factory dash guages and a ISSPRO fuel pressure guage that I wish I had never bought because the kits don't come complete and the danm gauge does'nt work. Any advice appreciated, Thank you, Kerley

Check the sensor wiring for the pressure sensor. Sensor is located near the ECM on the block. You can take the connector off and spray the connector and sensor with electrical contact cleaner to remove any debris from the contacts.

Oil Pressure - you likely need a new pressure sender. Very common problem - get it directly from Cummins.

Whats the deal with your FP guage? What are you missing? You just need the gauge some wire, some air brake line, a pressure snubber or needle valve, and a couple if fittings.

What doesnt work about it? Unlikely that its the guage and more likely that its your install. Need some details on whats wrong and how its installed. Pics would really help here - you need to get that working.

Ive ha a couple of Isspro guages installed for 6+ years - never missed a beat or dripped a drop of fuel.

Yep as said above that is 100% oil pressure sender. Buy a new one and you will be good to go. How did you wire your gauge in? What did you use for drawing power from? Pics and details like the good Dr. said would help out tons.

This guage has me stumped. I followed all directions from isspro and genos garage. I ask the members of Diesel Bombers for help and God bless them, they came thru for me with some good info and suggestions. I even bought the Haynes repair manual which offered very little info for my problem. There is a ground wire that comes with the package which grounds the guage to the sending unit. Genos directions said to attach the sending unit to the fuel filter housing, even supplied a drawing so I know I am correct. The directions said to add some thread tape to prevent leakage. I'am wondering if the thread tape could be preventing a ground. I ran the wires thru the firewall then added two more wires and fished them up thru the dash to the pillar post. I drilled a small hole in the pillar post to attach another ground for the guage as directed buy installation instructions. I attached all wires to the orange connector supplied by isspro then plugged into the guage. The two extra wires I installed were to the hot switch and the dimmer switch as direct by isspro. I bought a piggy back fuse connector and I've got juice. The guage just does not work. Three things could be the problem. 1] the ground at the fuel filter connection, 2] the orange connector, 3] or the guage is defective. I am stumped.

I dont know a ton about electric guages. What brand is it?

What you want to do is run a grease gun hose between your fuel filter housing (the forward port I believe), to the sender which will be mounted somewhere on the fender. Make sure you have excellent grounds (you may have to scrape or grind paint off here).

These pics are on 99's which should be the same as yours:

Sounds like grounding from your description of the wiring. I would try running a dedicated ground strap off that right to the frame somewhere nearby.

The fpg is a isspro EV2 electric and it just don't and is driving me nuts
I wish I had bought the mechanical guage as I understand them. I know how to follow directions, just ask my wife. I am not in tune with electronic equipment. I like your mechanical set up better. Thanks, Kerley

yes, call the Isspro customer service or technical department. They are very good to talk to and will help you to determine if its the guage or not.
