Looked at one yesterday, I'm needing advice on what I should look for as far as problems with this truck. It's for sale at the dealership it has fass fuel, afe intake horn, bullydog outlook, trans temp gague, look like replacement head gasket, larger oil pan, and looked like newer exhast. I did drive it and it seemed fairly tight it's got 274000kms with an auto trans which seemed tight no slipage now banging from drive to reverse. I'm new to these upgrades but not new to cummins as this one I'm driving now is my 3rd cummins truck. The dealership had a list of stuff that needed to be done on it, and they aren't going to do it. List is air conditoning, front vacuum leak, front u joint, tires. There was more but I think that was the major stuff.
Any advice would be great.

Asking price is $14,995 I offered them 10 and told them to fix the a.c. and put tires on it and then we'd talk. He came back with 10,500 and I'd pay for the A.C. and the tires. So we walked away

If they are going to knock off $4500 I'd go for it! You can get all that little stuff fixed for less by doing it yourself, or a local shop doing it.

Check to make sure it's not a #53 block (there were a few even in '02). Other than that, just the usual stuff...
