changing factory fuel filter

Default changing factory fuel filter

i know this is somewhere on hee on another post but i had to run my fuel back through my factory fuel filter housing my airdog went out again so i went back stock for awhile my question is on my 01 5.9 whats the best way to change the fuel filter step by step without vapor locking the motor i know this is a stupid question but i have done it a few time following the instructions and always vapor lock it any suggestions would be great

the safest way to do it is to open a banjo bolt either at the IP or on top of filter, then bump the starter to make the LP run. you could also leave the filter cover loose and bump the starter.

i've read that everthing should be tight, but that has never worked for me either.

Make sure the canister is full of fuel when you put the housing back together. Never had a prob that way

Yep and I'm ok with it, dads 99 had 215k on it no issues and my 2000 had 178k on it no issues and the 03 has 125k no issues and can't say for the 95 since I've only had it a half year but it has 253k

Yeah, I have never had a problem with mine either after filling the canister with unfiltered fuel - not yet anyway.
