I guess ill try looking at the rear end and replacing the sensor, id rather spend 50 bucks on parts trouble shooting than spend 50 on diagnostic than the cost of parts

I'm no expert but I've found alot of my electrical issues stem from loose ground wires. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

sometimes troubleshooting requires you to use known good parts to figure out what isn't woorking right. Forums like this are great for finding a starting point for where to look for the problems.

That's why I asked on here instead of paying 50 bucks for a ship to run the code when I figured someon here could have an idea what's wrong, before I asked I had a feeling it was the back abs/speed sensor because I had the same issue on my ranger before I sold it to get my dodge. Got the price of the part today and looks like I need to find 45 dollars to get it. And I have to have it fixed by tomorrow, since I have to drive to albuquerque Saturday.

my truck will let my passenger side door be locked with the remote or not, depends on the mood. the overhead display works when it wants. if its not one thing its another. process of elimination.

Well replaced the rear abs/speed sensor and its back to normal, so thanks guys for the help, I had a feeling that's what it was but I figured I'd ask just in case someone else had this problem before. Wasn't too hard to replace, was a little difficult getting the sensor out of the diff and getting the new one in working underneath it in the parking lot at advanced but all in all wasn't too bad. But now I noticed my fuel tank is leaking from the top when it gets hot outside, I took off the gas cap and lots of air came out and the leak stopped, now my question is....is this normal? Or is there something wrong with the gas cap or tank? Its leaking somewhere at the top. I'm thinking its just too much pressure in the tank when its hot outside and its sitting in direct sunlight and its just leaking where it can sneak out.

I've heard of this kind of thing before, but usually the other way - you take the gas cap off and hear air rushing into the tank. In that situation, generally someone replaced their diesel fuel cap with one from a gas powered truck. The diesel fuel cap is vented to the atmosphere to let air to go into the tank as the fuel is burned (no need for emission controlls because diesel doesn't evaporate). On the other hand, the gas fuel cap seals air tight and prevents the evaporation of unburned fuel to the atmosphere for emissions reasons. Is there any chance you don't have your original fuel cap?

Maybe it is rushing into the tank, idk. It only happens it seems like it hot weather when its been sitting in direct sunlight. And after I remove the cap it sounds like the tank is expanding and the leak stops.
