KDP Help
I was doing the kpd fix and the bolt is resessed farther than the pin is.....instead of the head of the bolt and the pin hole being flush with each other....if that makes any sence......anyway i got the little plate that goes over the hole and its bent like it will work but it just dont seem to feel right....the end is over the pin hole and the rest is all cockeyed when its lined up with the bolt hole.....is it possible this is one that came from the factory fixed already? from what i can see the pin is still ressessed in there quite a ways......and the 10mm bolt that is supposed to be next to the dowel is actually an allen head bolt.....any tips? cover is off and its outside....id hate for **** to get in the motor while im trying to figure this out

The factory fix is that the cover has a built up section on it that holds the pin in place, The motor is the exactly the same on all of em. That tab should have a slight bend in it, that's normal.
Don't forget to check all of those other bolts while your already in there and use red loctite.

Theres no way in hell that tab is gonna work....the bolt is so close to where that case extrudes that its all cockeyed and sits in there crooked and barely covers the pin hole
This is with the bolt snug and only about halfway in cuz its so bound up.....im about to say f it....i gotta have it going tonight

If your sure you got the right tab kit then it has worked in a thousand trucks just like yours. If you got one for the wrong years, well, you got a problem. The first generation tab kits work in the 98.5 and up 2nd generation trucks but the 98 and down for a few years won't.
Be sure to use new crank gasket also and be careful puttin it back in or you will end up with an oil leak.

Well i ordered it for an 01 from genos garage.....idk they said its for my truck....i just put the new seal in it and put it back together.....got tired of messing with it.....i guess ill worry about it another day....its still pushed back in the hole about a 1/4 inch so hopefully it will stay in long enough that i can find out what the deal is
