I just went through all that!
New injector pump and lift pump solved my problems.

I now run the two cycle oil as well. My truck runs so good it scares me thinking something is wrong. I never have had it so quiet, or run so good

I just never knew how bad my timing must have been off before.

I paid a little over a thousand dollars for mine through thedieselstore.com

I found them when I was searching for replacement, there are lots of stores out there and I don't know which is the best or if one is better then the other.

These folks did me a good job, and I have no complaints.

That said --- Open your wallet and be prepaired to do some work. It wasn't a hard job, and I have never done one before.

I wish you well. I do think from all I have read that the wallyworld two cycle oil will pretty much save your pump in the future.

This is one non professional Opinion.

I went through this a month ago and it turned out to be a bad TPS and paid like $280 for the part and put it on and fixed it.

i tried to reset my apps but no luck is there a way to check if it would be the tps or the vp44? the truck only seems to do it when it hasn't warmed up yet after it hits 190 degrees it will only do it once and a great while.

you can call the dealer or look in a repair book for the OHM's of what the TPS should be and get a meter (they are fairly cheap) and unplug it and test the ohm;s to see if they are within spec. This is how i found mine was bad...

Okay I did now know this and have not seen anybody post this but I just took my 2000 cummins to my diesel friend and he showed me this. The APPS/TPS reset is kinda pointless when you remove the bracket the APPS is bolted to there is two torx bit screw on the senso itself. These can loosened and that allows you to twist the sensor which changes the amount of voltage that comes through. It solved my problem and took about 10 minutes to do. I hope this is helpful
