hey i got a pump for my truck from a guy for nothing and was wondering if i should remove the factory pump when i go to do it?..it is my daily driver so i dont want to mess anything up

 

so what your asking is, should you put the pump you just got on your truck?

Lift pump??? If you got a raptor or fass or something, you can just leave the stock one on the side of the engine if you want, it is bypassed but its jusy extra weight imo...

 

no i am asking can i leave the one in the tank... sorry for lack of info i had a rough night last night.. i got a pump and would like to put it on today but mu only question is do i gte rid of the pump in the tank from the factory and mount mine on the framerail. once again i apologize for the bad first post

 

what pump do you have to put on? Your going to need to drop the tank at some point and put in a draw straw or sump, if that is where yours is. Only ones that have them in tank were dealer fix's that didn't work. So just be sure you have one in there.

Maybe its just me but I think its easier to pull the box off to get to the tank then to pull the fuel tank by itself.

 

That's what we are gonna do

 

At one time, I had the factory POS in the tank and a block mounted pump. It had lots of flow, too much though. 29PSI at idle, and dropped to about 22PSI at WOT. If you have a rail mounted pump with a regulator you may be able to get away with keeping both, otherwise I think you will run into the same high pressure issue as I did.
